The Kona Festivale Chorale commences its 2015-16 concert season with a holiday performance Dec. 13 at King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel.
The annual “Celebration of Christmas In Music” offers a variety of timeless Christmas classics and the message of Christmas. This season, the chorale will present “The Glory of Christmas,” a Lari Goss production. The matinee concert gets underway at 3 p.m. in the hotel’s Kamakahonu Ballrooms. Doors open 45 minutes ahead of showtime.
Featured will be the Kona Festivale Chorale, Celebration Singers, Close Ties and Meleuhane under the direction of Carson Wilcox and Roberta King performing such classics as “It’s Christmas, Again,” “Ding Dong Merrily on High,” “Jingle Bells,” “Mele Kalikimaka,” “O Holy Night” and “Behold the Lamb,” among others.
General admission tickets are $20 and children younger than age 12 enter free. Reserved seating tickets for adults are $25 and $10 for children. Purchase tickets through the Kona Festivale Chorale office at 331-1115 or at the door.
“Celebration of Christmas In Music” is the first performance of KFC’s 2015-16 season. It will be followed by the “Swing Into Spring” dinner gala on Feb. 27; “Pops Menagerie” on April 2 and; “C.S.M.C.I. — Composer’s Sacred Music Concert Invitational” on May 7.
Kona Festivale Chorale is a nonprofit performing arts organization serving the Kona and Kohala communities since 1988.
